We are a family and general medical practice clinic.
Dr. Horiike is a board certified Neurosurgeon.
After being on staff at several large hospitals, Dr. Horiike, decided to open this clinic to further serve the public in a more personal way. With the emphasis on the individual, Dr Horiike believes the key to long-term good health is his personally guided care team. With modern diagnostic equipment such as computed tomography (CT), Ultrasound, EKG, and more; we offer a comprehensive approach to your health care needs.
We also have available a variety of rehabilitation and exercise equipment and offer several new services such as Kaatsu Training, Vitamin Lab, and Super Stoic (a brand new diet and weight control program).
Our trained staff consists of registered nurses, a registered dietitian, rehabilitation trainers, government licensed care managers, and geriatric care attendants. Our expertise is inclusive for all age groups. Dr. Horiike and several of our staff are fluent in English and we welcome people of all countries.

- Horiike Clinic (Medical Services)
- Serving the Nara area for fifteen years. We emphasize preventative medicine. Also, Kampo (Chinese Herbal) prescriptions are available.
- Kaigo-Shien “Kagayaki” (Geriatric Care Services)
- If you need Kagayaki, our trained personnel will explain the services offered at our clinic and will help you with the certification process and the structure of the long-term health care system. Government licensed care managers and geriatric care attendants will serve your needs.
- Rehabilitation “Recharge” (Rehabilitation and Medical Fitness)
- At Recharge, we offer a variety of rehabilitation methods and therapeutic modalities. Traditional physical therapy to “POWER REHABILITATION” is available. "POWER" = Produce Outcome to Worthwhile for Elder Re-activation.
- Nutritional Support “Curable” (Counseling with Registered Dietitian)
- Nutritional Support “Curable” (Counseling with Registered Dietitian) Counseling and re-educating patient is our mission at Curable. Our Registered Dietician will evaluate your diet and suggest appropriate changes as necessary.

- KAATSU Training
- KAATSAU training is a novel method for muscle training by reducing venous blood flow by means of a specially designed belt (KAATSU belt). KAATSU Training is designed to increase muscle size and build strength with lighter weights and with less stressful motions on muscles, joints and ligaments. KAATSU, which has been in development for more than 40 years in Japan, utilizes a special belt that when tightened near the joints of the upper arms or legs, applies press to the muscle through temporary blood-flow restriction. The method is being introduced in the United States, primarily among competitive athletes in training, and has a presence in some sports and rehabilitation and medical settings. The technique is effective for older adults who may need to choose activities that limit physical stress to the body. Preliminary published research on low-intensity KAATSU training has shown gains in muscular strength and size. On going studies are promising for using KAATSU in outer space applications to help keep astronauts fit.
- Vitamin Lab
- Vitamin Lab is the Vitamin, Mineral Intravenous (IV) therapy. There are certain digestive conditions or chronic diseases where it may be beneficial to administer vitamins and minerals intravenously (IV). The advantage of administering through intravenously is that the vitamins and minerals can be delivered directly to the necessary tissue and cells at a very high dose. When vitamins and minerals are taken orally the amount is reach the tissues rely on healthy digestion. Also when there are not healthy cells, the individual cell cannot absorb the necessary vitamins and minerals at lower concentration.

You will get a quick analysis and some helpful tips and encouragement to apply to everyday nutrition. We may also suggest other helpful programs that will increase the success of your goal. This program is run by our Registered Dietitian over seen by Dr. Horiike.
